Very nice stay. In great location. First arrived the lock box would not open to let us get the key. Called office which was off island, the staff was there in just a few minutes and got us fixed up.Room was very clean and comfy. We will stay here again.

For me and my wife this was perfect..just what we needed since we spend most of our time on the beach. But we did spend a full day in the room to wine down and was very comfortable..ain't no high end glamorous fancy spanky..but very well kept/updated and comfortable to make you relax and if you were in your own home.(well we felt that way,lol). Some neighbors were a lil loud but hay were on vacation like us so we rolled with it. Pool was relaxing n great scenery. We will definitely stay here again if it us only/2 extra friends.

I had an emergency and did not get to stay for my 2 days I booked and paid in full. I called and I was told that I was not eligible for a refund?? So I feel like I was stolen from. About 400 I'm out for something that was beyond my control. I will not recommend this place to anyone. They are very uncaring when it comes to having to cancel due to an emergency

Perfect location for our vacation, small but comfortable lodging. We only needed enough room to sleep, shower and have an occasional meal and it checked all the boxes. Nice onsite pool and hot tub with friendly neighbors. It appeared there was a property manager/maintenance man onsite who did a fantastic job making sure everything was neat and clean. This place was nice and quiet at night. The patio with picnic tables right outside the room is perfect for morning workouts and breakfast. The pool and hot tub are conveniently located steps away from the room. And the beach is right across the street. We had an amazing time. The only recommendation would be better mattress. I would stay there again though.

We arrived and had no issues with check-in. The place is very small, which we knew but the bed was only a double bed and couldn't sleep comfortably with 2 people. The pullout bed in sofa was a queen size but very uncomfortable. You could feel the bar underneath on your back. Thank goodness we brought an air mattress with us. One of us slept in double bed and one of us on the air mattress. We didn't mind the studio condo other than that. It was clean on arrival and bug free. �� The location was very good, too. P.S. We are very disappointed that you do not accommodate 30 day rental rates anymore as that is how long we stay for. We will havevto look elsewhere.

Great place to be a Winter Texan
We really enjoyed our month+ stay. The studio condo was spacious and had more storage space than we were expecting. It no longer has a Murphy bed, but the full size bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was fairly well equipped though we did supplement with a few extra items. As noted in the listing there is no oven, which we fixed by bringing an air fry oven with us. Our biggest complaint, which cannot be fixed, is there is no window in the condo. As the picture shows, there is 2 full size glass doors into the atrium, which provides some light. The atrium is beautiful and the large hot tub was great and was never crowded whenever we got in. Being only steps away from the condo meant we were in the hot tub nearly every evening. The pool was warm and inviting. The manager was very friendly and helpful. The beach was only a leisurely 5 minute walk away. Padre Escapes was great. We notified them that the toaster was broken and they had a replacement for us the same day. They were quick to notify us of power outages as well as road construction so we could make necessary plan changes. We would recommend this condo and will consider coming back next winter.

This location has had varied reviews, so I will give my review to keep it current. The Padre Escapes personnel were excellent in scheduling my last minute stay, follow up emails and texts and check in info. The key directions were detailed and accurate. The condo is refreshed - the paint is very nice, the pictures show it as it is. The updated bed was comfortable, as were the pillows. A good night's sleep! The frig was cold and the coffee pot worked - my two requirements! The condo was very clean! The pool and hot tub were working - and soooo refreshing after a day at the beach. The upstairs neighbors were quiet. There was adequate parking available. I had a great stay and I will book again!

Let me start off by saying the staff at Padre Escapes is wonderful, we’ve stayed at different properties before and never had any issues but this rental was absolutely horrible. We’re a young family of 3, bed was super uncomfortable, AC only blew out humid air, there were brown rust stains on the fridge. The people upstairs stomped around like dinosaurs. The only good thing about this location was the proximity to the beach and local restaurants. I definitely would not recommend this particular property to any of my friends or family, I would however recommend Padre Escapes.

I was disappointed that the indoor pool and hot tub were mostly unusable during my stay due to the cold weather and lack of windows in the atrium. That was the main reason I chose that unit. I was also surprised at no oven in the unit.

The only down side was noise from the unit above me. This was mostly the mornings. The location was perfect! I was a little confused trying to figure out which lock box was mine. Maybe a screen shot with the picture would be helpful for the next one. The pool area was clean, the unit was nice and I would absolutely rent this again

The instructions to find your key is insane. Make note the key box says PE #1 not your room number. The lock box was open also. The gate to get in stays closed and the other key on the key ring assuming it was to open that gate also did not work. We got locked out for a time. Overall though the area is close enough to beach, great secluded area, and nice little place for weekend get away.

This was the worst experience we've had in a vacation rental. PE did not respond to our concerns and there was no one on the property to whom issues could be reported. The unit itself was a bit older, but in ok condition. The floors had not been cleaned well, the mattress was not comfortable at all, the "heated atrium style pool and hot tub" that were highlighted in the description when we booked, were not working and closed for the entirety of our stay. The noise from the unit above us was almost unbearable during the night. We were kept awake the first night until almost 5am and woken several times by it during the next two nights. It sounded like furniture was going to fall through the ceiling. We could hear literally everything the people above us were doing. The property is close to the beach, but it feels like you are in a cave because the unit is located in the bottom corner of the complex and there are no windows except for the front doors, which open into the courtyard/atrium area.
The rates were raised to summer rates because it was Spring Break, so we paid way more than the place was worth and since it was paid in advance, we had no recourse but to stay and try to make the best of it. We contacted PE by phone and via their "Rapid Request" portal and got no response. Overall, this was not the type of property or level of service I expected from Padre Escapes.

I requested to move after one night. The bathroom had a cushion toilet seat that was cracked and a shower that was so low I couldn't wash my hair without kneeling in the tub. The bathroom needs to be remodeled. The property management was great about finding another unit within minutes so I could move.

All in al, we like this property, returning for a second stay. Though the weather forecast called for cold and rainy weather, we thought all would be OK, given the covered atrium and heated pool. Unfortunately, when we arrived the roof covering the atrium was wide open, allowing the cold and windy weather to intrude. The temperature inside the atrium ranged from mid-fifties to 60 degrees during our stay, not to mention the rain coming in, throughout the week. That might have been OK, had the pool been heated. However, the water temperature was likely not much warmer than the ambient air temperature in the pool area, and too cold to swim. Nice hot tub, and, with the exception of one day, we enjoyed the use of it. During our first stay at this property, the roof was closed, the pool was heated and we enjoyed their use, given cool and blustery outdoor weather. The unit itself is nice and well maintained, with a new sofa in place since our original stay.

The apt was VERY small! When the hide a bed was folded out the beds almost touched. The hid a bed frame was so badly worn that my daughter and grand daughter took the mattress off and slept on the floor. The other bed squeaked everytime you moved, so badly that it woke others in the room. Had there been room, that mattress would have been on the floor too! To top it off the shower didn’t drain! My husband spent 20 minutes unclogging the drain of hair and packed in dirt in order to get it working enough to take a shower! Tried to find another place and was willing to lose money to get out of there but nothing else available. Tried to call management co but went on permanent hold. Left a day early! Hot tub was set at 114; way above OSHA Regis and saw many other safety violations.

Things were not good from the start. The keys did not turn the locks. After multiple tries and lots of pushing and pulling on the door, we were able to unlock. The air conditioner was clanky and loud. You could not move on the bed without incredibly loud sounds. As a whole, this was not a place I would ever stay again!

The room we stayed in was a little on the small side but we spent very little time in the room. The a/c seemed struggle to keep the room at 75 and made lots of noise. I mentioned this to the rental company and they have mentioned it was the unit owner not wanting to spend any money in their unit not Padre Eacapes. Pool was excellent and maintained daily. Really close to fishing spots and the beach. All in all I would return to Padre Escapes.

I would like to say we had a wonderful experience. The condos are walking distance from the water and sand. The rental was nice and clean. Fully stocked kitchen. You just need to add food. We did have a problem with the a/C not cooling someone was sent out right away to fix it. Unfortunately the pool was closed due to damage from hurricane Harvey. But everything was perfect. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone.

The condo was in a great location but I feel like I could I got better for the money I spent I think I spent close to 400 for three nights, The condo stunk and were outdated.... it was a literally maybe a three minute walk to the beach so that was great and the vocals that stayed in the actual apartments were cool other than the racist ones we encountered.

We have never had any disappointments the many times we have booked through Padre Escapes. We were on a tight budget this time so we chose the economical Beachside Villa. This is one of the older properties, a bit worn but with signs that someone cares. I do not expect 5 star accommodations for a 2 star price. The unit itself is as the pictures depict - clean and everything in working order during our stay. If you are sensitive to noise the bed has a creak in the mattress. If you are sensitive to odors the unit smelled "stale" and there is smoking in some areas of the atrium. We greatly enjoyed the pool and hot tub which we used daily. We had a nice chat with the friendly property manager who made herself available for any questions or issues we might have. The beach is a short walk away.

We were located across the street from the beach. When we rented the property I was told via phone that there are no properties on the beach, which we later found to be untrue. But once we got past the untruth of that the remainder of the stay was very pleasant. It was a nice quiet complex and everyone we came in contact with was super friendly. Would not mind staying there again. The room was comfortable and well supplied with the necessities.

This rental property is a perfect distance from the beach entrance when driving, with a sticker purchased from Stripes you can drive your car right onto the beach in under 5 mins and skip hauling your supplies by foot. Unfortunately the only view provided is to the interior of the complex, so you'll only see the ocean when your off the property. I personally like the wall color they choose. The bed does appear to be new, but for me it was firmer then I like, a cheap foam mattress pad would be a great improvement. Most of the pans provided are non-stick and scratched up, being a health hazard. I would recommend to the owner that they purchase aluminum pans for the guests to use. They are inexpensive and durable. There was also no spatula, so we made due with a plastic ladle. I really like the fact that it has a full kitchen, this was a big reason we chose this place. One more thing, the shower head sits at 5'6" or so, you may have to duck awkwardly to rinse your hair if your tall.

I rented this condo a few weeks before my class reunion in corpus. It was convenient, had everything I needed, and was a lovely stay for my family. I would highly recommend it for friends and family. I have to say I love the ambiance of this place. I loved the lush greenery within the atrium. The room was clean and accommodating. I would suggest perhaps more dishes (ie pans, etc) supplied. Also, the toilet kept stopping up and we had to plunge it every few times it was used. Other than that, we really enjoyed it. The people were friendly, and it is in a great location to the beach.

My first night was not good. First of all there was no wifi at all, which was very very disappointing. Secondly, I woke up to a combat zone over my head. The people above me were basically jumping on the floors and screaming at each other. I am a military Vet with PTSD and this set me off. I had to get dressed and leave because I was so upset! I ended up staying at a friend's home for the remainder of the other two nights, but came back to the condo during the day.

Door jambs and areas around doors were dirty, as were bathroom cabinet doors. Scatter rugs were stained and well worn; need to be replaced. Peeling paint above the bathtub surround. Entry locks were difficult to operate. Pool water was too warm. Cooktop needs to be updated. Under the couch had not been cleaned - there was a comb under there when we opened the sofa bed.

The Air conditioner did not cool properly. We cleaned the filter and it was better. The bed was good but it was warm in the room at night and a bit uncomfortable. We also needed a dust pan to pick up the sand we swept up. The smoke detector was in the closet. It should be in the proper place. Over all we had a wonderful time and would stay again in the same place. Pool was wonderful. Location was perfect.

We really enjoyed our stay the room was clean !!
We only had a couple of things we did not really care for ..
The bed was a fold out of the closet wall and it had this huge foam mattress on it and when.two people that are not big people lay on it you sink to the middle of the bed .. It hurt our backs!!!
Thw second thing was towards the end of our stay it stunk like sewer outsid w in the Fourier ...
We loved the Forrestry even the bannanas was growing on the trees!!

The vacation itself was great, the condo, not so much. There was an ashtray right outside the door, which would have been great if we smoked. The beds left a lot to be desired in the way of comfort and the pool was more dirty than clean. It was not as close to the beach as advertised, but it was close. We should have spent the extra $10 a night and stayed at the Holiday Inn or Candlewood Suites, but, lesson learned.

The wed site photo is amazing and very inviting. But the minute we parked the building was in very rough condition. The bed was to small and hard to get in and off it. The room was clean and but the throw rugs were dirty. Clean folded towels were open to find dead insects. Needlesss to say we spent all day at the beach and slept on the sofa!

We're very sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. I 100% agree the exterior of the building is in rough shape but once you walk in it is a very tropical and pleasant place. Bugs (dead or alive) are unacceptable, if you would've let us know while you were here we would've promptly moved you to another property. We will certainly address the bug issue with the owners. Again we are very sorry for the unpleasant stay but we do greatly appreciate your feedback.

The property was exactly as described, and it was a great overall experience. The property management people were great.
